Services

We provide individual therapy to school aged children, adolescents and adults. Individual sessions can be accessed in person or through telehealth services. We also provide a range of assessments listed below.

Cognitive Assessment

Cognitive assessments are structured and standardised assessments administered by a psychologist to gain an understanding of a person's cognitive strengths and weaknesses in areas of verbal comprehension, non-verbal problem solving processing speed and working memory. A cognitive assessment can be administered as a stand alone assessment or as part of a wider investigation if you are concerned about developmental delays, learning difficulties, Autism or ADHD.

Achievement Assessment

Achievement assessments are used to identify the academic strengths and weaknesses of a student (aged over 4 yrs, up to 19 yrs). The test assesses literacy and numeracy skills across a variety of domains. The results can be interpreted by a psychologist to inform decisions regarding assistance of educational services, or diagnosis of a specific learning disability.

Comprehensive Education Assessment

A comprehensive educational assessment contains both a cognitive and achievement assessment and can help parents and educators gain insight to a child’s unique learning profile and academic capacity. An educational assessment will look at the students memory, attention, the speed at which they can process information, and problem solving skills. This information can assist parents and teachers in developing strategies for the child's unique learning needs.

The assessment typically includes:

  1. An initial interview to gain an understanding of the current reason for assessment and a relevant history.
  2. The administration of relevant tests over the course of multiple sessions (timing will differ based on tests used).
  3. A detailed assessment report with recommendations suited to your reason for referral.
  4. A feedback session to discuss the assessment and any questions that may arise.
